I had just mentioned to my husband that I hadn't seen our Ravens for awhile since their nesting tree fell down. Our llama, Starbuck had been suffering from an unknown cause and we had the vet to put him to sleep. I looked up into the sky and there were the Ravens circled just above us cawing and making songs. and then they dispersed. This was the day before Winter Solstice last year 2019.
Yesterday, Out llama Gaia was not eating and she was weak. We made a nice secluded place for her away from the other llamas. We brought her warm water, grasses and crushed sweet smelling pellets of alfalfa. She drank a lot of the water and slept in-between drinks with her head on the ground. We would leave her alone for 20 minute intervals because she was a wild llama and not used to touch or the company from a human.
I was out in the backyard caring for my hens and ducks when I saw the Raven Family fly overhead. They called out as they passed me. I watched to see where they went and I could see them all gather quite close above Gaia where they circled in the sky shouting out their songs. They dipped and dove and twirled together in the sky. Then they dispersed and flew back the way they came. I noticed Mother and Father raven fly close together as they usually do during mating season. Father Raven would dive down twirling and fly back up around Mother Raven. At one point they tilted to the side to clasp feet for a moment. The whole event had a celebration feel to it.

This morning Gaia had made her transition. I didn't connect the two events until now. It gives life more meaning to notice these events and connect to them. I feel they were celebrating her life and inviting her Spirit to be free. Just as they did with Starbuck nearly a year ago.
I thank you for visiting
Though my heart is heavy today I am uplifted by these two events and wanted to share with you all.
Until next time
Love flows eternally and is available always and forever. |
